Picture Perfect World

Whoever said 'If you love something, set it free',
Probably died alone in some motel room.
'Cause I feel pain and loss and sorrow and misery.
And that's all I've gained from saying good bye.

I never meant to come between her and all her dreams.
I'd be a selfish man to even try.
Seems what I want and what she wants just don't agree.
And there ain't no room left for compromise.

If we both win like this then where's my prize?

Don't paint me in your picture perfect world.
Don't paint me in a corner.
Don't paint me in your picture perfect world.
Don't paint me in a corner.

Whatever spark drove us into each others arms
Only ended up burning the whole house down.
I made a choice to try to reach for the stars.
And she made a choice not to wait around.

But an empty stage is all that I have found.

Don't paint me in your picture perfect world.
Don't paint me in a corner.
Don't paint me in your picture perfect world.
Don't paint me in a corner.

Why must a driven man always walk alone?

Don't paint me in your picture perfect world.
Don't paint me in a corner.
Don't paint me in your picture perfect world.
Don't paint me in a corner.

Whoever said 'If you love something, set it free',
Probably died alone in some motel room.
