If I Just Laid Low
I may not be too subtle.
I may be rough around the edge.
I may be a handful of trouble.
I may walk too close to the ledge.
You say I'm more than
what you ever bargained for.
But you know damn well there ain't no one who could love you
more.
And how would you know...If
I just laid low.
I may be bold and brazen.
I may not be a walk in the park.
I may be cold at the days end.
I may be a wolf, come after dark.
You like to make me
wait when I come knocking at your door.
But you know damn well you ain't been loved like this before.
And how would you know...If
I just laid low.
I ain't so graceful
with my heart.
I'm like a bull in a china shop.
When I find something good then I want it a lot.
But then you tell me I should stop,
Before I go and break something that I can't ever replace.
But how would you know?
I said, how would you know?
If I just laid low.
